Yield management

What is the difference between Yield management and Revenue management?

The two terms are often used interchangeably today, but they have distinct nuances. Yield management takes a tactical, short-term approach: it adjusts rates, availability, and promotions in real time to capitalize on immediate demand.

Revenue management, on the other hand, takes a medium to long-term strategic view: it segments guests, selects distribution channels, and plans pricing policies to optimize the hotel's overall revenue.
