Context

Hotel Mirabel is a 3-star Superior hotel located just steps from the Kronplatz ski lifts, nestled between Val Pusteria and Val di Marebbe in South Tyrol.

Surrounded by nature, the hotel began in the 1980s as a family-run residence. Today it offers 28 rooms and operates during both the summer season (June–September) and winter season (December to Easter).

The guest mix changes by season: in summer, mostly Italian couples book their stays, while in winter the hotel welcomes many families and ski lovers from Germany and Eastern Europe.

The challenge

Hotel Mirabel had always used a fixed annual price list. On rare occasions, the rates were slightly adjusted—but every time, updates had to be made manually on both the website and OTAs, often resulting in errors or inconsistencies.

While revenue was stable thanks to the hotel’s prime location and loyal guest base, the market was shifting: new guests were harder to retain, and travel habits were changing.

The internet made everyone more mobile: guests used to come back every year and stay for two weeks. Now it’s harder to set minimum stays, especially in summer. Smartpricing helped us boost bookings even in that context.

The solution

Smartpricing came into the picture almost by chance, but it only took one free demo to convince the owner to give it a try.

Last year during Ferragosto we had a few gaps in bookings. We logged into Smartpricing and tweaked the strategy in minutes by freezing the rates on some room types. We especially like that it’s so intuitive. And now we know that even a tiny change in price can make a real difference.

The results

Thanks to Smartpricing, Hotel Mirabel increased its revenue and reinvested it into meaningful improvements: the rooms were renovated, and a new wellness center was built, enhancing the overall guest experience.
